Otto started diving in 1991 in the warmer waters of Southern Africa, becoming a PADI Divemaster in 1997 and an Instructor in 1998, before relocating to Canada in 2000.
His entire family - wife, son, and daughter - are all avid divers and whenever possible they all meet up for dive trips and vacations. Otto's favourite warm water diving has been with the whale sharks off the Mozambique coast, and the best cold water dives have been near Quadra Island. His most challenging diving has been in flooded mineshafts in South Africa.
While not diving, Otto is a Project/Engineering Manager for a precast concrete company.
