While growing up near the coast as a kid in Southern Thailand, I was always in the ocean whether it be swimming, splashing around or snorkelling. The ocean was intriguing and exhilarating to me and my desire to explore and be one with it grew stronger with age. My first plunge with scuba was the most surreal experience I have ever had. Just on that first dive, I came up close and personal with schools of butterfly fish, barracuda, anemones, sting rays, and even a sea snake (little did I know then that they are one of the most poisonous snakes in the world). The ability to swim and exist among the plethora of life that inhabited the underwater world was what sealed the deal for me. Deep down inside, I knew that I was going to pursue a career in diving.
